Providenciales, the most popular vacation spot of the Turks and Caicos offers white sandy beaches, sparkling turquoise waters and a beautiful coral reef.

Where to Stay

There are many beautiful beaches located on the beautiful shores of Providenciales. These are a few of the top choices for vacationers and residents alike. Beaches Turks and Caicos is an all-inclusive resort that promises fun and excitement for the whole family; if you are into a more low-key vacation you might want to try Royal West Indies Resort, a quiet beachfront resort located on Grace Bay Beach. If luxury and indulgence is what you seek, look no further than The Grace Bay Club which boasts 21 luxury suites. And if you are a trendsetter, Gansevoort Turks and Caicos is the place for you, having been named one of the top ten trendiest hotels worldwide, this chic beachfront hotel is calling your name.

Where to Eat

For those of you who are seafood lovers a visit to Da Conch Shack beach bar is a must! If you are a feeling a little less adventurous, Hemingway’s on the Beach, located at the Sands Resort, offers a mix of traditional American and Caribbean cuisine. Somewhere Cafe and Lounge is a great place to enjoy evening cocktails on the rooftop deck and listen to some live music. The Tiki Hut is another island family favourite, offering casual dockside dining in Turtle Cove Marina.

What to Do

Take a day sail with your group on the Atabeyra, a local favourite, or book a treasure hunt for the kids. Don’t forget to stop off at the infamous Iguana Island on one of your boat tours. A sunset walk on the beach is free and one of the most beautiful sights the Turks and Caicos can offer. And for the adults, the Casablanca Casino is Providenciales’ only live casino, featuring 12 live game tables and 85 slot machines, along with the Casablanca Lounge and Bar. All hotels offer snorkeling and scuba diving information so be sure not to miss out- and don’t forget your sunscreen! Also, be sure to ask about any other activities going on in your hotel or around the island.

Getting Around

Renting a car is your best bet if you plan to explore the island and Avis is a safe and reliable choice. You can book ahead and pick up your rental at the airport. But make to make a reservation early, car rentals aren’t cheap anywhere on island, and they tend to book up fast! If you plan on going out at night, walking alone anywhere in the dark isn’t recommended. This may seem like a no-brainer but on vacation people seem to let their judgment slide and others take advantage of this. Only travel in groups if walking or in a vehicle and be safe!
